Whilst visiting the local second hand book shop, I picked up one of those modern reprints of old short story collections from the 1920's and 30's which you see so many of in just such shops. It was called 'Great Ghost Stories' and cost the princely sum of £2. The author list was pretty spectacular so I paid up and took it away. The title was a little misleading as most of the stories weren't actually ghost stories at all.. Some were just thrillers but entertaining in that old school adventure fiction way all the same. I haven't read any HG Wells short stories so I was pleased to see 'the Inexperienced Ghost' in there. Anyone read this? It's full of quiet Wells humour, Masonic references and a pretty good ending (even if it wasn't totally unexpected). I found it online if anyone has 10 minutes to spare to read it and hasn't done yet... www.online-literature.com/wellshg/19/

[glow=red,2,300]It's a good story, not as funny as the one about the diamond swallowing ostritch but very good nonetheless. [/glow]
