Slick, That's the impression I get from reading this information. Let's be honest we all know a surround mix of this is going to rock the party big time. Sony are taking full advantage of this (rightly so..) and iam sure the SACD 5.1 mix will blow us all away! ;D My main concerns are that I have a very expensive, non-SACD home cinema setup, I have DVD, Laserdisc, Sky +, Digital Processors & speakers everywhere. I now have to buy a new SACD player, god knows where I am going to plug this in?

[glow=green,2,300] ...You know what? I my heart-of-heart I knew that, that would be the answer!!! ;D ;D When the Star Wars trilogy came out on DVD, I didn't have enough speakers... so I had to get more... ;D When Half-Life 2 came out, I didn't have enough power... so I had to get a new GFX Card... ;D So it makes sense that when the next big thing was to happen, even though I was (as always) unprepared... I prevail in the end... ;D [/glow]

A short time ago, Pink Floyd released there old album 'DarK Side Of The Moon' in what was then the all new SACD. Jeff's album is not a identicle format. This is a bettered version, something entirely new and not used before - so I gather from what Jeff has put, hence the term used 'demonstration'.

[glow=green,2,300] OK, OK, OK!!! I am excited enough (in a petrified scared sh*tless kind of way!!!) ;D I await with baited breath!!! Fortunately, with it coming out in the summer, it gives me time to save up for a half-decent SACD player!!! ;D ;D Oh in all the excitement I almost forgot to ask, Horsell, JW is not going to include any MORE scary pictures with the new collection? ?? I don't think I could handle that! [/glow]

Hard to say really, but I would expect to see something 'new' in the booklet from his archieves. The original album artwork booklet was 16 pages in length, this one (so far) is currently at 80 pages.

I really cant contain how happy I am this is coming out. I kept bleeting on about it to my friends (and showing them the signed album I won on ebay) during the liverpool v leverkusen game Horsell, is there a definite release date? I want to book the day off work Slick2097.

1) Is the booklet going to be, or currently up to 80 pages! Go on, Jeff, make it a nice round 100 pages please!!! 2) Size of a black vinyl disc... but these some in many sizes now! 7", 12", LP, CD?
It's so near now, yet so far! I just hope that website gets online soon so I can pre-order it!!

You'll have to say that when it comes out and you go into the shop to buy it - 'excuse me, have you got Jeff whats it ma bobs remixed remasterd re jiggy thingy gummy whatever cd album' ;D
How many of us when younger went into a record shop, forgot the name of the record and artist and stood there at the counter humming the music to the shop assistant with the hopes they may recognise it - or was that just me ;D

[glow=red,2,300]This is gonna be sooooo cooool!
When will we be able to pre-order it?
I sure hope there is some new art in the book. Esp. of the Martians themselves. I was always dissapointed that there were no pics of the Martians in the booklet. It'll be interesting to see how much the martians (either in the booklet or eventually the movie) will match Wells description or the PC game martians. [/glow]

Could this be timed to release with the new SACD2 technology I read about last year? Now that would be very interesting. Very interesting indeed. Time to ponder I reckon it might be ... would make sense, like an SACD but using a new format and used as a demo ... I reckon its the new SACD2 format. Slick2097.

I would hope they'd throw a boring old normal CD version of the album in the box, for us techo-paupers... unless of course the stereo mix IS CD format on a hybrid disk.
Much as I'd live to rush out the day this is released, for all the extras,if it doesn't contain a version of the album I can play then what's the point... the extras are nice, but ultimately it's the album I'll play the most!

Having no freakin idea what SACD was I did a bit of scouting around and found that it is possible to have hybrid multichannel (not stereo) SACDs that play on normal DVD players. The SACD specific tracks are burnt at a deeper level, while your regular CD encoding sits on top. Whether Jeff chooses this option remains to be seen however HC might have a better idea. He better bloody do it cos I'm sick of upgrading my sh!t The DTS 5.1 remix I have of Refused's "The Shape Of Punk To Come" blows the doors off all my other CDs.
