Back in the early 1980s, as part of the albums tie-in, a 'pop up' book was created based on the Jeff Wayne album.
Has anyone seen this, heard of it or even (if by luck) have it as Im interested to learn a little more about it.
I mean, come on, just how cool is that - a WOTW pop up book

Never heard of it, but it could be extremely cool! You'd turn the page, and you see a Martian rising up from the cylinder and firing popping up about Ogilvy and the others...

My son loves pop-up books!! Should I track it down for him, or is 2 years old a tad young for WOTW, considering how we were affected when we first heard it!!??

Yeah, a pop up jeff Wayne book might do terrible things to a 2 year old. My eldest son is 4 and he's seen the cover of the album but I haven't let him see the booklet yet because of my own experiences with the dread images that lurk within.
I don't know what age is safe to expose a sprog to the 'delights' of 'panic in the streets', perhaps about 8 or 9?
For now my son seems wonderfully untraumatised. He sometimes draws Martians on his little magnetic doodle pad thingy, and then explains to me what's going on. 'This is a Martian, and this is me and mummy shooting the Martian with a big cannon. Then the Martian blows up and the birds eat him all up.'
Ah, how simple life must be when you're only 4.

[glow=red,2,300]Of course, conciddeing how rare the book must be if Horsell doesn't have it in his collection.... it might be more than a little expensive!

Do you mean that Jeff himself doesn't have a copy? Of all the things H_C saw in JW's studio of forbidden mysteries, that book wasn't there?
This book must be harder to find than a resturant that serves dodo tikka masala.

[glow=red,2,300]Maybe a reprint might be one of the items of merchandise we'll see relleased soon? [/glow]

I went and picked my 4 year old son up from kindergarden the other day and he had drawn a picture of me and in it I looked suspiciously like a martian - no body, just a head with two large eyes and whiplike limbs. He'd probably love the JW pictures although admittedly they did disturb me a bit when I was his age. I almost had a heart attack last week when I caught his uncle showing him Happy Tree Friends. A pop-up book would be great though. Pull the tab and the people burn. Mwahahahahaha! ;D

The building directly behind the water pump/trough, to the right of that building there is a fallen beam at a 45 degree angle - you can see a man drapped over the beam almost at ground/Red Weed level.
