Ah.. that's the same guy who did that fantastic pic of the two FM's in the harbour (the JW one and an old skool type). If JW's film looks anything like that it willmake me a happy man.

Great site. Cheers for the link. Edited to say: have you noticed how the Red Weed in the "Hopelessness" pic looks like a cannibis plant?

I love the picture of the tripods striding along by the houses at the harbour's edge. The stray dogs are a great touch! The only flaw is that the second tripod seems to have one foot in the water, making it look as if it's about to tip over.

All of his work is fantastic in the gallery there- especially the texturing/colouring and atmosphere of the pictures. Some of the scifi stuff reminds me of the sci-fi art of the 70's- I have a great book back at my parents house of spaceships- a great reference for getting scale into the pictures.
It'd be nice to see some more of his WOTW pictures from a person's perspective- ie on the ground looking up at the tripods- more fitting to me with the book.

By the way, thanks Horsell. I'm planning of getting a new Mac this summer, and I want some sort of 3D program to start create little scenes. I was looking into al kinds of stuff, and came by Bryce, but it didn't realy cut it, especially the lack of vegetations. Then I remembered this post, and found out he used Vue 5. Looks like an excelent program!

Yeah, spliff-ing good picture though I have to be the first to point out the wit of the above comment. Fantastic artwork, there. Although on this program, the link is 'catagorized as violence' so I can only view the one picture.

Why, thank you very much. It took a lot of courage to finally admit to myself the true nature of my WOTW obsession. ;D A warm welcome is always, err, welcome.

Welcome Astro. I've just remembered what else the rendered pics on that site remind me of.. it's been bugging me for some time. Anyone ever played any of the 'Myst' games?...

[glow=purple,2,300]Very Myst indeed! I notice his renders are done in Vue 5 - anyone know what Myst was rendered in? [/glow]

Myst was done in Strata Studio Pro and Riven was done in SoftImage. I was just reading my 'from Myst to Riven' coffeetable book last night, and it was like looking through a holiday pictures album. I was going like "Ah yes, I remember" "Oh, yes, that happened also" ... fantastic games! I never played the two follow ups though...
