Say if somehow or some way he came to our time and. Do you think he would have a panic attack or croak over in utter future-culture shock?

In this day and age, he'd probably scrap The War of the Worlds. After all, who needs Martians to destroy mankind when we're doing a good enough job ourselves.

I think it depends on how young Wells would have been at the time of his time-trip. I think the movie "Time after Time" did a wonderful job of depicting the shock and disillusionment a young Wells, full of optimism and hope about the future, would have experienced with the "advancements" of our modern age. In Wells' era, there was such a thing as personal honor; one did not need to show ID to write a check. And of course the "advancements" in warfare, from tanks to atomic bombs, would have greatly depressed Wells, notwithstanding the fact he wrote "The Land Ironclads".
OTOH an older and more disillusioned Wells would more likely just have had his pessimism about the future confirmed.

Yes he would be over awed by our technology, but i don't think he be surprised at human attitudes, in fact i think he'd be pretty disappointed,.

Personally I don't think Wells would be overawed with our technology - especially if he appeared post-writing "Things to Come" In fact, I think he'd be rather pleased with himself about how so many of his predictions came true He would also be utterly fascinated with how this technology has been developed. If Wells were overawed by anything, it might well instead be with how our society has evolved (e.g. womens rights, racial, cultural and religious issues, the rise of the chav etc. ;D). KR

He was an avangardist, we say in french, was ahead, of is time. For the technology, i dont think he would be as surprise, as we can think, because he had an idea about the futur, For our way of life, wars, individalist, today's politics, and the way the countrys react to it, especially USA because of Bush, and Uk.British. because of Blair, Sorry about that, i dont know the difference and i dont know exactly for who Blair is prime minister??. he would be surprised that 2 democratics countrys, declared war to a country that as not attack them, first. Chantale.

Judging by what he wrote (think about it, laser weapons and poison gas attacks written prior to 1900?) It wouldn't surprise me if he had visited 2006 or thereabouts.....
