I posted this in another thread, but since I don't think this piece of Wellsiana has been mentioned on this forum, I thought it would be best to announce it more prominantly.
There was an episode of the "Disneyland" TV show, from 1957, entitled "Mars and Beyond". It included quite a bit of animation sequences-- surprisingly, they're in color, altho TV broadcasts were B&W back then-- including some artists' conceptions of what Martian life was imagined to be back in the '60s, as well as depicting some fictional Martians, including those from Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Barsoom" novels. Martians and Tripods from this forum's favorite novel are seen briefly. I can't say I think much of the "avant-garde" art style on this animation or the crudity of the drawings, but it most certainly *is* a piece of Wellsiana. For that reason, WotW completists may want to pick up the DVD of "Walt Disney Treasures: Tomorrowland".
