Anyone been watching this series on channel 4. It's a bit depressing in parts but a superb documentary with a superb presenter. HG Wells was mentioned at the beginning of the series.

It's about war in the 20th century - from the 1st world war right up [ so far ] to the cold war. It also touches on the fact that the 3rd world war in a way has already happened as just as many people were killed since the second world war - in wars such as Cambodia, Korea, Vietnam etc.

I found the presenter to be a bit too critical of the western allies to be honest...
I mean, yeah war is hell and both sides did some pretty horrific things but we were fighting to stop a war and the oppression by the Nazis, that's not to say we weren't in it to expand our own interests at the same time, of course we were but on the whole I found him a bit too critical like I said.
A moral debate for another time I think and one that I don't think anyone could really answer.

I dunno. I thought it was pretty fair myself. I thought he was just telling the facts more than anything - as opposed to picking more on the western allies. If I thought that the programme was doing that I most probably wouldn't have watched it and don't forget a lot of programmes in the past have conveniently skimmed over atrocities perpetuated by the western countries.
