Is it just me or have all the tripods in the WOTW movies left no indentations on the ground?
If this has happened, why have they been omitted?

Artistic licence, or more accuratly saves money of sfx buget.

They could at least try something.

I suppose the spielberg tripods had those finger like things that might have spread the weight a bit.

Guess so.
But what about the other tripods? I doubt that the JW tripods would act in a similar fashion.

I would say they were made from a very lightweight material, the power needed to launch something so heavy that it indents the ground across space would be enourmous, then you have to mulitply that by five!
(Five machines per cylinder) Imagine the amount of force needed to do that, they'd rip Mars in two just launching them!
