I starting thinking of this idea some weeks ago. Not sure if i should post this in the Jeff Wayne forum or in here but i figured here, and i do not mean to make Jeff's musical look bad, I heard parts of some of it and it sounds awesome. An old freind of mine along time ago showed the record album version of it he bought then. I want to hear the whole thing myself and someday I will buy it. Anyways what do you think of if a band like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater or even Queensryche or Blue Oyster Cult did a musical, concept album of War Of The Worlds? I think it would be real cool. Maybe a bad idea eh? Maybe not?

Yeah, that'd be interesting. Alchemist did a metal version of 'The Eve of The War' which I've heard a bit of and quite liked.

I'd LOVE to hear a Maiden version of WOTW. I can just imagine Bruce's voice fitting the drama and tension perfectly. Also judging by their previous concept albums (Crimson Idol & Neon God), WASP would do a great WOTW musical.

I've been a HUGE Maiden fan for almost 20 years. I think Blaze has the rough voice to play the Parson. Who would play Beth though? Just imagine the artwork. Eddie beating down on a Fighting Machine. Shame Derek Riggs doesn't do teh artwork anymore. I've love to see his interpretation of a FM.

Metallica would be great in the Lightning & Puppets era. Personally I think they've sold out. Ever since Bob Rock started producing their work, they've gown downhill.
Megadeth & Sabbeth have always been up their with the best. I'll be honest, never really heard much Dio, Cradle. Priest? I'll leave. Too much leather LOL

2003? You've missed their best work. Personally I think they're hayday was the 80's. Wasn't that impressed with Brave New World but Dance of Death REALLY kicked ass. They're DEFINATLY back on form. Cant wait to see them again in December.
Yup. Can I play with Madness, 1988 was my introduction to them. Been my fave band ever since.

I love all maiden song but if I had to chose a bst song I'd probably say Run to the Hills!

I never Blaze Bailey ever did fit in with Maiden. They were soon rid of him when Bruce wanted to come back.
Favourite Maiden Track - Fear Of The Dark... CLASS!!!
