For anyone new to the subject of War of the Worlds, I have compiled a Rough guide and FAQ. In it you can find out more about the subject and it should answer any basic questions you may have. It's not meant to be extensive.. just a primer for the subject. For anyone interested in following the subject up more extensively, I have also included some useful links in the guide. I will update the guide as and when necessary. You can find the guide within the Feature's section of the main site.. link here.. www.waroftheworldsonline.com/features/wotwofaq.htmEnjoy! Just a thought; shouldn't you also include Jeff Wayne's 2008 film? Or is that still not entirely a locked prospect?

There are a couple of things that I haven't included as yet, Alabaster.. You spotted one. The other glaring omission to some would be the TV series. The main reason I did this guide in the first place is we are starting to attract more new members interested in WotW because of the new Spielberg movie trailers and media coverage and some of those may not be aware of the other incarnations, or know little about them. I wanted to get the basics online for people as soon as possible but I will be adding to and updating it as necessary.

Maybe a guide to the spin-offs? Like Scarlet Fever and the compilation with the invasions in the other countries (forget the name of the book, sorry)

I gather you mean 'Global Dispatches'. I haven't read that myself but I will include it eventually anyway. I plan to expand this guide out and amend a few things over the next few weeks. Thanks for the suggestion.

Here are a list of sequels I have found concerning The War of the Worlds and their authors/where found. Maybe you could include them in the guide but maybe it would be a good idea to do a section on the website for them anyway with a brief review or summary of each?
The Martian War by Gabriel Mesta Global Dispatches by Kevin J. Anderson Scarlet Traces by Ian Edginton Sherlock Holmes’s War of the Worlds by Manly W. Wellman and Wade Wellman The Second War of the Worlds by George H. Smith Edison’s Conquest of Mars by Garrett P. Serviss

Two other wotw books not mentioned yet that I have found are: "The Martian War : A Thrilling Eyewitness Account of the Recent Invasion As Reported by Mr. H.G. Wells" - Gabriel Mesta "War of the Worlds : New Millennium "- Douglas Niles
Just finished reading them - nothing to write home about.

i've read the first of those two books and 2/3 of the second. the first was quite good. the second one seems to be trying to hard to be made into into a movie. i'm gonna finish reading it as soon as i can locate it.
