That is indeed very victorian! My only niggle is that HG points out that the martians had no conceptual use of the wheel. I'm just an old pedant! Still very good though.

Hmmm, i'm not so sure....looks like it was knocked together in grandpa martain's garage !!!
apart from that it look far too 'terrestrial' to me. I wouldn't discribe it as a a walking
engine of glittering metal !!.
All IMO of course !!
