This is the other Martian Fighting Machine Martin Bower built for the Bournemouth Science Fictions & Fantasy Group: And here it is being filmed (for an amateur short, I gather); the chap standing on the chair is Dougal Dixon, the illustrator and dinosaur expert (note the hair dryer under the machine's body - this was used to make the tentacles wiggle!):

I like that machine. I have not seen those images before, just the one of the machine in pieces on the table. Nive to see it standing.

Hi I have found the video tape but sadly the hard drive that stored the models and relevant files is fried. at the moment i don't have the facilites to convert the pal format tape to a web friendly format but if anyone out there has, and is interested i will gladly send it too them. I would like it back though! First time I've seen it in years and noticed it elludes to Paramounts legal team standing outside the club. spooky.

Sounds very interesting, thats a shame though about the files being lost, but hopefully someone may read your posting and have the solution for transfer to web use.

This is Paramounts original 'concept' design of what the machines were going to look like for the 1953 film version - Notice the idea still being of a 'flying' machine with its 'ray' legs.

It's got 'Rusti' in the URL.. That wouldn't be our own Mr Swordz would it? I was talking about 'Stick Death'. Your source for stick men meeting their makers... Sick, macabre and won't be to everyone's taste but often amusing www.stickdeath.com/frameset.htm

Cheers to 'Atlantis' for this. This is a great rendering using the machines from the 'Classic Illustrated' comic, first released in the early 1950s.

I love these from Czarnyrobert over on renderosity.. (Sorry about the size) ''Desolate Harbour'' ''Hangover'' www.renderosity.com/photos/GAL_200412/GalleryImage837725.jpg [/img] Also.. a quick request. Whilst posting these images can we, where possible, try to credit the artist and give the picture name. There are 2 reasons for this.. 1) It's only fair to credit the artist (if known) as it is their work we're showing 2) Anyone on dial up like me will know that some of these take a buggering long time to load and it's difficult to tell what's already been posted and what hasn't without waiting a loong time for the pics to load up. Thanks.
