Yeah, I've only seen a few of them so far... Comparing Tom's Site, and Dr Zeus, and the Amazon.com listing, what you're missing is... Martians Emerging From Cylinder Woking Backlit by the fires on the Common Martian Destroyed at Shepperton People Fleeing under Big Ben The Flying Machine spraying Black Smoke Narraror Hiding from the Tentacle in the Ruined House Countryside with Red Weed Pickled Martian in the Museum Hopefully I can get my copy signed the next time I see him, Tom Kidd and Micheal Whelan are both locals for me..

[glow=red,2,300]uuulllaaa, we're refering to the 2001 harper collins hardcover edition of war of the worlds featuring full colour plate illustrations by Tom Kidd. From memory there is at least one of the illustrations not in the list above being an artwork of the martian gun, replete with tiny little martians going too and fro. One of my favourites along with the flying machine and pickled martian pics. Lanceradvanced.. you live near Michael Whelen AND Tom Kidd!!! Any chance you could arrange to have my copy signed too? The picture of the downed fighting machine with the cow grazing next to it is ace.
I didnt like the picture of the martians gun, it seemed to thin to fire a decent sized cylinder and a couple of the fighting machines looked drunk with bendy legs but over all his work is ace.
My favourite piece is the martian in his handling machine.

[glow=red,2,300]There are a few probs with the Tom Kidd stuff... all the tripods are tarnished coloured, the handling machine has too many legs, the cylinder looks tiny etc. But artisticly they are still some of the best wotw works out there.
