[glow=red,2,300]Cool. I hope they are reasonably decent.. most movie toys are flimsy, poorly sculpted and innacurate. [/glow]

I want a stuffed Martian / alien / trans-dimensional being / Cruise's mother in-law! Or whatever the invaders are,, I'd rather see a collectors model tripod or something similar. On a side point, why do they call things like that 'collectors items' when millions of people like us buy them? I'd like to see someone take a hellboy figure onto the antiques roadshow next week and see what the value is . Now if it was signed, now that's different. Anyone good at faking Spielberg's signature? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

Cheers for that. In case some can't see it as its a little mention, here it is. And a host of companies are selling figurines and toys from the soon-to-be-released flicks "Fantastic Four," "Star Wars: Episode III," "War of the Worlds," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and the "King Kong" remake, plus a "Ripped Pants" SpongeBob that accidentally rips his pants as shown on the cartoon. Its almost certain that with the trade shows I trade at, many of the toy dealers will have the WOTW stuff out. The next show for me is April at the NEC so I will scouting the place for goodies, of course in between selling, I mean money does'nt grow on tree's. I WANT A CUDDLY GLOW IN THE DARK WOTW ALIEN

In a desperate attempt to make us think they're worth more than they actually are, of course. 'Collectors itmes' means many things. I work in the buisness so I come across this many times. A couple of ways that 'collectors items' can be used is 1/ its a ltd numbered item, 2/ limited run, 3/ so many made in this colour or style, and the one that most retail outlets prefere - because the 'collectors item' gimick makes it sell better. It would be nice to have toys of the tripods from each movie- not necessarily models (I'm far too busy for that at the mo) but poseable 12" toys of some sort- maybe by McFarlane Toys (www.spawn.com)- they have done consistently brilliant replicas from Yellow Submarine through Hellraiser, Aliens and a great model of the boat at the end of Jaws with Hooper being eaten by the shark.
And has anyone seen the plush facehugger, warrior, chestburster and queen from the Alien saga? They're great!
Aaah- how about the fond old days of Palitoy/Kenner? ;D

If I had of had the money I would have bought that plush facehugger. So cute. Didn't know that you could get a queen, warrior and chestburster as well. I may have to invest.
