The night that panicked america was released in 1975 dipicting the true story of radio drama companie that did a radio version of H.G Wells War Of The Worlds it starred
Vic Morrow .... Hank Muldoon Cliff De Young .... Stefan Grubowski Michael Constantine .... Jess Wingate Walter McGinn .... Paul Stewart Eileen Brennan .... Ann Muldoon Meredith Baxter .... Linda Davis Tom Bosley .... Norman Smith Will Geer .... Reverend Davis Paul Shenar .... Orson Welles John Ritter .... Walter Wingate Granville Van Dusen .... Carl Phillips Burton Gilliam .... Tex Joshua Bryant .... Howard Koch Liam Dunn .... Charlie Shelley Morrison .... Toni
The basic story is that this drama group did the story but people that missed the begginig thought that the martians were actually invading earth. I have now seen the film three times and I think that it's brilliant although it was poorly filmed.
If you have seen it post a reply and let me know what you think of it, But if you havent yet seen it i strongly suggest you do. [/b] ;D [/center]

I remember watching this whilst I was on a communication studies course. I obviously loved the film for it's content, especially the jam jar in the toilet to simulate the opening of the cylinder!!! Very insightful into how Orson and the Mercury theatre went into making one of radio's greatest moments!

I remember seeing it years ago and thinking it was a great flick. Some scenes were superb, such as a moment near the end when one guy is on the verge of shooting his children to spare them from the Martians and another where a group of guys shoot a watertower, thinking it to be a fighting machine. Hopefully it'll see a DVD release this year, even if it's just brought out to cash in on Spielberg's WOTW movie.
