Three movies coming out. Which one will succeed? So much variety and choice...but why not combine them all?
It's obvious that Speilburg's movie will bring in the most cash right from the bat...so combine that with Pendragon's authentic version, and Jeff Wayne's musical. What we end up with is Tom Cruise in the 1800's singing about low rez tripods coming to kill them all. "You can heatray my heeeeart! But don't heatray my caaaaar! Doot doo doot, go see Mission Impossible Threeee."
I should write for Hollywood.
Anyway, despite which ones we all might be rooting for over another, statistically and in general...what movie is going to do better?
Speilburg may pull off a blockbuster, but with the merchandise coming from Jeff Wayne and the different mediums of the musical...who knows.

Actualy I dont thinks thats very fair. They are related by title alone and thats were it stops.
You cant compare the giant unstoppable Paramount with the invisible dwarf that is Pendragon Pictures its just not cricket you know. As for Jeff Wayne hes had a twnty odd year head start on both with his album, i've never heard anyone say they didnt like it.
So you cant say whos going to win because there is no race on which to judge.
Its not even garanteed there will be a pendragon WOTW to start with.

I mean money-wise actually. Yeah, it's not fair...but which one will be more successful? Maybe the question is...how good will Jeff Wayne's be? I mean, if he pulls all this off, he could be a common name in every household just like speilburg...-It could turn out to be very popular...maybe even moreso than the Speilburg incarnation.

Money-wise, you're almost certainly talking Spielberg. His name alone will rake the cash in!
Second would be Jeff's version - a niche market for fans of the album, and more will have heard the album than read the book
In third place will be Timbos version. It may be fantasic, but he just hasn't got as big a name as Spielberg or Jeff - He'll just get lost in the ether. People will hear of it, but assume it's Spielergs film. He may be able to capitalise on this, as by releasing it earlier, people may se it "by mistake" if you will. This will be the hard core fans favourite, but it just won't be able to compete.

Possibly, you could actually call Spielberg's version "Part 2". As it is set in the present day, it could be construed as the martians return to Earth after their first abortive attempt at invasion. Just hope they have learnt their lessons this time........
