I remember reading somewhere that there were no 'Ullas' in the broadcast because someone (I think Welle's boss? Not that I can remember too well ) thought that they were too scary. Has anyone else read this? Would it have been more scary if there had been an "Ulla!" in the broadcast?

the closest thing that the radio bradcast to a "ulla" was the sound of the heat ray... the "ehhh!" "ehhh!" of the organ they used was pretty frightning for its time

It's probably just as well. I once heard an audio novel of the book (I forget which one) and the 'Ulla' was just some guy doing an echoey ghost/owl impression. Made me laugh, that did.

That does sound very amusing ;D "ulllaaa.... I am the ghost of an owl *cough* erm, I mean Martian FM... sorry, forgot what I was supposed to be just then"

I doubt that because I think the oldest member here is about 50. But it would be nice if there was someone...

In fact it scared people so much, if they had tried to make it any more scary it would have ended up being less scary! ;D
