. . . and no its not something I hate (hey hey, boom boom, I thank you, Im here until Friday).
With the release in the Summer of Spielbergs film and with Jeff Waynes album re-launch, I have this very funny feeling that for October of 2005 some TV network will do a (possible) 2 part drama show for TV of the Orson Welles radio Broadcast.
And why not ?
No better time to do it than this year and this October.

Most likely. Maybe even air a...documentary or something. Here's an idea...why doesn't a station fake a News report of supposed bombings...and try and freak everyone out again believing there's martians attacking. I guess we're not as stupid as we once were...but with all the reality shows and teen pop idol dramas on the TV world...you might be able to scare a few people.

Well Fox and Radio one in the UK teamed up to do the Independence Day UK thing so stranger things have happened... I would say, though, that the BBC will be a little more careful after the 'Ghost watch' furore in the Uk in 1992. For those who don't know, 'Ghost watch' was a play based on early reality shows of the day (such as Hospitalwatch and Badgerwatch) in which TV cameras broadcast live images from whatever event it was named after. Trouble was with Ghost watch, it had famous presenters of the day playing themselves and was broadcast 'live' on Halloween from a supposedly haunted council house. It ended with a presenter hurt or missing and one possessed by the spirit of a murderer. It was all fake, obviously, but there were reports afterwards of suicides and general panic in the press in the days following. It was never repeated on TV but had a DVD release recently. I think the BBC got stung by that badly and might not go down that path again.

[glow=red,2,300]You might have a point about Ghosthingych, there was an interesting article about it in Fortean Times that led to a bit of debate in the letters pages.
I'd like to see a hoax documentary that treats the invasion as if it did happen.. Battlefield Britain would be nice what with all their CG etc. [/glow]
