Hi All:
Just wanted you to know that I've renewed the loan agreement with SFM to keep the original Alvim Corrêa artwork at the Science Fiction Museum on display for another year!
I hope most of you will make it to Seattle to see them!
Cheers! Carioca

[glow=red,2,300]It's a shame I can't afford it. If the pictures ever go on display in Eastern Australia I might manage it. Of course, the more people go to see it the better the chance it'll tour so go people go![/glow]

I most certainly intend to try and get down there sometime to see them. I do love Corrêa's work!

Hi All:
Unfortunately, Alvim Corrêa died of TB in 1910 at age 34, so he did not become a prolific illustrator after the 1906 L'Vandamme Edition. However, if you do a Google search, you're likely to find some art auction sites with photos of his work which includes militaria, cariactures, and erotica (under the pseudonym Henri Le Mort). His War of the Worlds illustrations feature a combination of these styles.
If any of you make it Seattle, let me know and I'll be happy to give you a guided tour of the Corrêa exhibit!
