Have Just been into the Park Place Mall in Tucson, visited the bookshop and exited holding a copy of 'War of the Worlds-a graphic novel inspired by the novel of H.G Wells' It appears to be a modern re-telling of the original book, yet in New York. (It is, I must note in no way connected to the Spielberg movie.) The design of the Creatures, Tripods, and Flying Machines is exceptional, though the quality of the story, drawing of our own aircraft, and the depiction of the Thunderchild as a SUBMARINE fall short of the mark. Just wondered if anyone has seen this book before? Or is my astonishment at the find merely a sign of my living a life sheltered from such things?

Can't see the picture TC. Is it a tripod with green feelers, with flying machines against a city background?"

Looks like the Dark Horse one is out next March. Thought that was a great adaptation.

That trailer made me chuckle, not the premise of the book, but the voice over.
"they're opening!"
