Hi all I have a copy of the 1897 edition Ive clung onto it since I was a kid. Im guessing its probably worth something - not that Im considering giving it away. It appears in 3 volumes of Pearsons Magazine - a pretty big bound heavy book. its done in weekly parts. Does anyone know how I can find out anymore about this magazine.
Cheers

No, don't give them away, sell them to me, not that they'll be worth much, ooooooh, about 20p each at a push, and I'm being generous there, yes, just pop them in the post to Uncle McTodd, I'll even pay you the postage to take them off your hands, nasty grubby old things cluttering up your nice modern home... yib yib gibber...

Hello Joolz Horsell Common (the member of this board, not the place) may be able to help you there as he deals in such things and he has some 1st editions and so on himself. Charles (another member) is our resident Wells expert so he may also be able to help. It's certain to be worth a few quid anyway!

Cheers Hi there Joolz The editions I have only appeared in 2 volumns, however, the last complete editions that I sold was 3 years ago, and they went for £500. But it's the same old story, they are worth what ever the buyer is willing to pay for them. Of course they will be more of a value when the films come out as this always pushes prices up. Completeness and condition play a key facter in this, the better they are, the more they are worth. But persoanlly I would keep onto them as the complete volumns are getting very thin on the ground. . . . Nice items to own too.
