I've been to Woking once, briefly. I was on the train from London to Portsmouth and passed through the town on that trip. Unfortunately, I really didn't have time to look around.

I'm going to have to go one day. I'd like to see these places, and imagine how they would look 100 years ago, with the Martians about.
I guess most of them look completely different today though.

I bin to Woking. Specifically to see the Martian Sculpture. Unfortunatly went in the afternoon/ evening so there were loads of chavs hanging round. Didn't get to Horsell Common, dammit!!! We ventured up and down Maybury Hill, under the railway arch, lingered on the brinks of the woods just beyound, and then round and round the Martian Sculpture.
Seems an OK place during day. Not sure about at night tho.

I guess that should read "I have been to Woking".. The problem with chavs is if you're exposed to them for too long, you start to speak like they do. Much like the earth succumbing to the red weed... ;D

You don't sound very confident that he'll get the job...

I visited Woking in 1996. While trying to find Wells' house, I asked a Wokingite if he knew how far down Maybury Road it was. He wasn't sure, but had heard of Wells...and then asked the fateful question:
"Yes, Wells. Now...didn't he write 1984?"

I just had to look up your references to "Chavs"...
"Britains peasant underclass that are taking over our towns and cities!"
Maybe my people have been in America too long but... Peasants?
Is this the British equivalent to white trash? Redneck?

Chavs are evil scum. You can't walk past a group of them with out being spat on or stabbed. Most of them are basicly white wannabe gansters who are ill-literate and EXTREMELY ignorant.

I've been to Horsell Common as well, in 1998. Took back two rocks which looked like they have been split by the heatray :-)

Chav scum make rednecks look intellegent.
Basically they are the by products of inbred lab monkeys and tony Blair.
