Hey
I have seen the movie, and i enjoyed it a fair bit, especially the opening nude scene of Felicity Herbert getting out of the shower. I am writing up a review as we speak, for online tommorrow. I will speak more then.
Serriously, this is actually quite a good adaptation of the novel, though not in same country or time period and many changes, the horror is there, a lot of the plot lines are vaguely still in place, its a decent fun and sometimes moving movie.

It is out in the U.S on June 28th under the title of 'H G Wells' War Of The Worlds' but also rumoured for U.K release at a much later time and under another title of 'Invasion'.

At least there's a nude scene with Felicity Herbert even if the rest of it's pants.

I wonder if the U.S. Wal-Mart stores will have this one available a week early, as they did for the-version-which-cannot-be-named. (I would love to be able to buy this from Wal-Mart, since it would probably cost somewhat less than Amazon.com.) This version interests me very much. I thought the trailers for this version were quite well done, and despite being set in modern times, seemed to follow the book. This is probably just a pie-in-the-sky thought, but it would be nice if somebody's 'modern' version of War of the Worlds had a ship battle in it comparable to the Thunderchild scene in the book. (Hey, I can dream, can't I?)

Six legged actually. They call them 'walkers' in this movie.
