Here is the answer to the question asked about the machines - tripods, yes or no - directly from 'Asylum' Dear WOTWOnline
Six separate legs like a crab. But these machines are walkers, which hold the aliens. The trailer is going up - there have just been technical problems with the encode. Regards. The Asylum tel: 1.323.463.6575 fax: 1.323.463.6299 web: www.theasylum.cc

I suppose they'd be Hexapods.
Hmmm, not quite the same ring...

Tripods, Hexapods, whatever. As long as human flesh is ripped from the bone, I'll be happy.

There's nothing like a bit of human flesh being ripped from the bone to cheer me up after a hard day's work of ripping human flesh from the bone.
Oops, given away a little bit too much there...

LOL. Since when in any version do people have the flesh ripped from their bones?! From the back of the Asylum WOTW DVD: "As cities crumble and human flesh is ripped from the bone, one man struggles to find the one weapon that will turn the tide for mankind."

vampirims *the drinking of blood* is not as horrific these days as it was in the Victorian era, so they've bought it up a notch no doubt, to bring the horror of the orgiinal novel back home.
Canablism is the vampirsm of the 20th/21st century, it's scary, it's horrific and it's the ultimate taboo.

So any handling machines will have about 10 legs?
Won't be very good at dancing...

[glow=purple,2,300]Dammit, I was getting up to date with the new movie, and came up with a dead brill theory to explain the six legged 'tripods'.
I was going to dazzle you with my amazing theory that as the martians reproduce by budding off each other, the 6-legged beasties could be conjoined tripods during the sprouting process, and that they split into two tripods at the end of the spawning. But as they're simply Walkers, I shan't bother now![/glow]

Hail the Tripod.. You really do have too much time on your hands.. I like the way your mind works though.. even when it's wrong.
