i think they had been from various divisions, like for example, marine core out of 29 palms usmc base, and some other army national guard squads out of ny and virginia. On www.waroftheworlds.com i think there is some info on that. |

I had a look on the web site but I couldn't find anything.
I'm not sure if I looked in the right place or not.
I believe that you're right about the National Guard troops Deadsword.
I also think there were troops in the movie who had seen service in Iraq that weren't NG; probably the marines - but I can't remember
