I think i read once that SS was going to do the movie as like the first one and not from the views of just one character and his family but then he changed his mind. Suppose he made both versions simultaneousely. I beet it would have been too much work maybe just that It would be interesting and i bet it would have cost him twice it did for doing this one. Any ideas for the other version if he had done it the other way?

Keep in mind the purpose of theatrically released films is to make money. To make two versions of the same movie simultaneously means you'd be developing two products which would directly compete for virtually the same movie audience. So basically you'd be spending a lot more time, effort and money to earn virtually the same amount of box-office money. Sure, some rabid Wells fans like us would be willing to pay to see two versions, but "true fans" are never more than a tiny percentage of any movie's audience. So obsessed fans** who think movie makers should cater to *their* wishes are deluding themselves.
**Deadsword, I am *not* saying you are one of these. We do have at least a few on this forum-- I may very well qualify for that category myself.
