Hey there everyone. I am new to the forum. I was curious of where certain parts of the movie was mad at?

Welcome to WOTW online. Well, I'm not too sure if many locations were that mad. But on a more serious note: But I think the part where the first tripod activates in America is 5 ways - or something along those lines. I also think that the ferry scene was filmed at the Hudson river. I'm not sure but I think that's right.

Hello, and welcome to the forums deadsword! ;D I think they did a lot of filming in Newark and the Hudson river area, and quite a lot of 'on set' filming too. I found the following is off of the Official spielberg WotW website ( www.waroftheworlds.com/), from the 'production notes' section, about the on-set filming. Not overly-specific, but still quite interesting: "On stage 16 on the Fox lot, production designer Rick Carter and his team created an otherworldly set which they called "The Meadow." The farmhouse, which the company shot in the rolling hills of eastern Virginia and completed at Mystery Mesa, north of Los Angeles, was recreated on a low sloping hill with the barn, wooden fence, a carpet of sod and some trees. But this time everything was covered with red weed....
...In addition to their work on dozens of practical locations the company worked on six stages spread over three studio lots. [Production also utilized stage facilities for the interior of Ray's house in Bayonne, New Jersey]. Every stage was its own world. In addition to the meadow set, Fox was home to the claustrophobic cellar where Ray and Rachel encounter Ogilvy."There is a lot more info on the sets they used, etc on that site. Just go to 'about the film', then the 'production notes' section, then click on the link that says 'click here to view the full production notes in a new window' to see them in full. Hope this helps. ______
