Hey all, first time posting.
Firstly, I wanna say I really do enjoy the Spielberg WotW. It was very well done indeed. I'm glad I didn't listen to the critics and went ahead and bought it.
I also went and bought the soundtrack to use in my RPG games but there is one clip of music I don't seem to have with that soundtrack...
The clip is difficult to describe - sort of a mournful horn that plays four notes, but those notes are powerful....the clip appears on the official Spielberg Movie website in the background, and in the advertisement/teaser for the WotW survival game it plays in the opening few seconds....
I think that small track basically captures the whole feel of the movie but as I said I can't find it anywhere on the soundtrack...
Does anyone have any idea what the song is called and where I can find it?

Hello and welcome.
The music on the 'official' website has nothing to do with John Williams, infact its not even for the War Of The Worlds film. The website and score were still being made when the website was up and running.

Hi Horsell, thank you for your reply.
I don't suppose you have any idea how I might find out what that piece of music is? Do you know who might have made the website? Who I might contact to find it?
Thanks for your help so far...

It's best heard in 'The Epilogue' and sometimes it comes back very softly. I think your missing piece is the music played right after the Ferry Scene, when Robby looks up and sees clothes floating down. It sounds very much like 'The Epilogue'. Tripod

No, that's not it, honestly the best place to hear what I am talking about is on the official Spielberg movie website, they have it playing in the background. Horsell says it's not a part of the soundtrack, which makes me despair ever getting my hands on it at all unless I can somehow contact the people who put that site together....but thank you so much for your help Tripod

The music of the site is indeed not part of the Soundtrack, and I too have been seaching to get my hands on the piece.

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, have you tried e-mailing the site's webmaster?

Well, see, problem is I can't seem to find a 'Contact Us' part of that Website....otherwise I would do precisely that.

Well... have you tried webmaster@waroftheworlds.com ? It seems a little obvious... but it makes sense.

Thats the correct email address. I can't find the powerful bit of music used in the trailers on the Soundtrack. Can anyone point me in the right direction. it's the rousing thumping bit that always seemed to be used during the explosions and summation of trailers.

If you've got an example of the trailer, that might narrow it down abit. I know the sample "Gothic Power" was used during some of the trailers. That was quite a dramatic piece, and im almost certain it was used during the theatrical trailer.

I've got 'Gothic Power' on my computer, I could send it to you by E-Mail if you want to, Rob.
