I agree. The film captured the feel of the book pefectly. It's a shame some people* can't see past their own prejudices and see what a great film it is. *Some people, not all. So don't worry.

How on earth can you say it captured the feel of the book perfectly. The only thing it captured was some nice lookin tripods and a miscast - action hero star. It's got nothing to do with prejudices - it's to do with the fact that as a WOTW film - it isn't up to scratch. It's more about Cruise, his tiresome Ray character and his whiny kids than anything to do with the book. I'd rather watch the 1953 film than this.
