I thought we should post new or our favourite tripod stills. Some unseen stills would do, but I'll start with one of my favs: Also the very first heat ray death photo!(Yes, released before cinefex!) from Anthony.

Those are only screen caps taken from (cough) unofficial DVD releases seen about the place.

I borrowed an 'unofficial' copy from someone just so I could capture and place the initial Tripod sequence on my mobile phone The actual quality wasn't very good though. Needless to say I will be getting the real thing in November

I was given the best unoffical copy ever. The text was russian, some blokey coughed through most of the movie, the sound was poor and the screen was too dark. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! Tee hee.
Piracy, it doesn't pay! would you steal a TV? would you steal a car? would you steal a handbag?
I would!
I would never steal a movie after this one

You could always 'expand' the story as such. Maybe make a three part story charting the journey of three different individuals during the WOTW storyline. Perhaps a Government official, Bus driver (or any other 'civilian') and finally a Soldier!
By doing that you can show a story that has different elements which provides for all kinds of WOTW fans. Action, Drama & Tension.

For me one of the worst points of the Tripods is that they DONT FIGHT IN REAL BATTLES. The two "Action moments" of the movie was totally dissapointed: In the hill battle, the tripods not appear at all and in Boston the poor tripod not shoot against the bazooka soldier!!!

For me one of the worst points of the Tripods is that they DONT FIGHT IN REAL BATTLES. .... That's my only real gripe about the movie. I would love to have seen actual combat between the machines & our hardware while the aliens could still effectively fight back. Other than that, though, I love the flick & the tripods look very cool. The sight of the first machine towering over the crowd was thrilling & awe-inspiring. And the way some victims were collected (& sometimes skewered) was appropriately frightening.

We attack, their shields block it, they wipe us out. Repeat. It would have worked much better if it was like in the books, where the Tripods were actually destcructable. That way a signifigant and exciting battle could take place. Heh, and when you think about it the battle aspect of the movie is totally off kilter and no fun at all. In the beginning of the movie they are utterly unbeatable and we don't stand a chance. By the end of the movie *we* are utterly unbeatable and they don't stand a chance. Where's the fun in that I ask you!?!?
