Should there be a sequel to Spielbergs War Of The Worlds. If you think there should, give us an idea to how it should go and if its a 'no' then give us your thoughts on that.

I vote no, because if it ain't broke don't fix it. The whole thing would be diluted down, and would probably lead to some bloody awful TV series. Leave it alone SS, it's fine as it is.
PS can you imagine "War of the Worlds II; The Return"? <Bleaughh!!!>

I also voted no, I think we should just be treated to a more complete version of what we've already seen.

I also have to agree with a 'no'. But this is afterall Hollywood and HW knows best and after the success of WOTW I am sure that in the near future we will be treated to another alien invasion just to cash in.
It will be like 'Jurassic Park' but without merchandise.

If they do a sequel, it would be a nice idea if it ran parallel to the first film showing the same invasion from the perspective of a new cast of caracters, possibly with the odd crossover event such as the burning train.

I would vote more for an expanded edition, about one or two hours longer or so

Ok..........now we're talking Hopefully it would be from the point of view of someone who has seen more of the action. So......if its not a sequel or a prequel, would that make it a parallel?

Hell no. At least leave it with some dignity.

No way, it would just be even more of an excuse to create their own storyline completely and end up with a movie that just happens to have Tripods in it.

I don't think a sequel would work well. But if they do make another movie, making a parallel story would be pretty awesome.

They're supposed to be making a dumbed down cartoon of it for kids [ as if it isn't dumbed down enough already ] so I wouldn't be surprised if they make some tacky sequel.

A parallel might be a good idea and I agree with Spirit of Man that it would be good to see more action. I don't think think they could make a sequel AT ALL.

Why certainly there should be a sequel! Swiping liberally from the game Space: 1889: After Thomas Edison invents the Ether Propellor space drive, our heroes build space-worthy gunships, powered by solar-powered steam engines (using mirrors to focus the sun's rays, heating water in the boiler) and carry the fight to Mars, raining down death and destruction on the hideous Martians, wiping out their evil empire! (That whirring sound you hear? Pay it no mind, it's just Wells spinning in his grave.)
Oh, wait... you meant a sequel to the new *movie*. ;D Well, no.
Seriously, what story could you tell? With civilization devastated or destroyed, we'd be even less able to resist a second invasion. And what deux ex machina would you pull out of a hat to save poor humanity the *second* time?
