Now this is superb, but a little like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. Now question is . . . . . where do we get this little beauty from. With thanks to: DreamWorksSKG site

There is a new advert in the UK papers its a pic of cruise and fanning running over the hill as the blazing tripod is coming over the top...

I must admit, I've seen the concept art wallpapers and other images, such as the poster above & would love to have seen some of this stuff in the actual film.
Whilst the "from Rays point of view" angle to the film looked pretty good, it would have been nice to see things on a global scale, to see the destruction the concept art and posters describe. You get little teasers in the film, like when the first tripod emerges, you see a birds eye shot of the tripod as it rises, clearly not an angle seen by Ray or family. I think it would have been cool to have a little narration, half way through the film (ofcourse making the film a lil longer) whilst showing the general destruction around the globe. I also think (and ive said this before) that it would have been cool, if after you see the red weed appear it doesnt just tail off to the end of the film so soon....... One minute you see the RW, you see a little clip of it growing, then its dead. It didnt give me the impression that the invaders had any grip on our planet.

If I'd seen the poster before I'd have been well miffed with the film. Probably have contacted a good solicitor... oh yes.

I agree with what most other people are saying ,its a great poster but all it does is frustrate me as scenes like that is what i really wanted to see in the movie.

Whether intentionally or not, the film is just a cash in on the name wotw. The poster epitomises it. It's more like an illustration for the book than a representation of the movie. It's so far removed from the central theme of the film you'd need a plane to make the leap in imagination.

A seller on E-bay has a small clutch [2-3]of these gems for sale.About 20 dollars American after shipping is added.I grabbed mine the very hour I saw it,and it should be here in a week.still he might be getting more,so I would check for this item regularly.someone else also may have it cheaper too.
At 27''X40'' it's a huge buy for just a little.GET ONE!

I do agree with some others posting here when they say that there should have been scenes like the poster in the film.i would have liked to have seen more of a worldwide scenario, even if it was just in flashes or small set-pieces,placed in other areas of the globe.I really would have liked to see the Tripods in London for example, fragging a couple of highly visible monuments or landmarks,as a kind of homage to Wells.Of course the rest of the planet could have been done in a representatve fashion ,like in the original 1953 version.for today's filmmakers, surely such a chore would not have been that difficult .Just a thought and nothing more.
