Just a quick question for you guys. How much is an original 1978 album (in mint condition) worth. I bought it (rather forced my mother to buy it) in 1978 at the tender age of 5, because I liked the cover and have had it ever since. Cheers.

Probably not a lot, I'm afraid. The album sold very well, over 12 million copies I believe, and spent years in the album charts. As a consequence there is no shortage of second hand copies around and you're probably not talking about anything over a fiver for a ordinary copy. Of course, if it's a box set you're in a different league.
A look on ebay will give you a good guide for the kind of price to expect, there are always lots of copies on sale.

And many of those Ebay listings refer to the album as **RARE ITEM!!! HARD TO FIND**, which is kind of amusing considering how many zillions of copies are out there!

Did it not sell well?
Hmm, I always had the impression that it did.........probably because it is THE version of WOTW (besides the book of course).

Sell well?, you are joking? It was in the top 100 album charts for 5 years in a row and sold over 12 million copies world wide. Remember, the albums story and the original H.G. Wells story are not the same. Many can get them mixed up thinking the album is a direct telling of the book. H_C

and I bet the new stuff is also going to sell well - especially with the Paramount film and everything else going on.
I'm gonna buy a box set when it comes out and wrap it up tight for 20 years. If in 2025 it's never been played, I bet it'd be worth much more...!

Of course it will sell well, we've waited 25 years for this stuff to come out. No good if his site is going to feature shopping trollies when I turn up, more like a ruddy great truck.

H_C Queens Greatest Hits was in the top 100 for 492 weeks which is roughly coming up to 9 1/2 years ;D & the sales of which, made it go 11 times platinum......i'll.....make a move now...shall I? ;D
