I love the line "backed by a masive media campaign!" as if that says anything about the quality of the movie. Can't we get rid of all those pesky advertisment people?

Well, to be fair, the flyer shown above is not for the general public.
That sales sheet goes directly to the buyers. It proclaims, "BACKED BY A MASSIVE MEDIA CAMPAIGN!" because it is giving out sales points to potential buyers -- in this case, small retail stores.
Basically, it's telling the buyer that they should buy our film over the dozens of others they are presented because of ________ reason. In this case, a massive media campaign (which is rare with small indie films).
Advertising is very important and if you are a 'Mom & Pop' video store you want to know that your purchase will result in people buying the product. Otherwise, this small store will end up buying more TROY DVDs for their shelves -- and bypass all independent titles.
All studios do this. Even the biggies. Even films that made over $100 million.
...except theirs would probably list more publications.
Call it 'craptastic' if you'd like, but I thought you'd like to know the full story...
