Wells' classic sci-fi horror, civilization is laid to ruin when a super race of aliens invades Earth. In a blink of an eye, massive "walkers" cover the planet, annihilating all in their path. As cities crumble and human flesh is ripped form the bone, one man struggles to find the one weapon that will turn the tide for mankind. CAST: C. THOMAS HOWELL (THE HILLSIDE STRANGLER and E.T.), PETER GREENE (PULP FICTION and THE MASK), ANDREW LAUER (SCREAMERS and UNRAVELLED), RHETT GILES (WAY OF THE VAMPIRE, JOLLY ROGER), and JAKE BUSEY (THE FRIGHTENERS, IDENTITY)'' Details from here.. www.theasylum.cc/cgi-bin/showMovie.cgi?id=10Here's the artwork.. www.theasylum.cc/pictures/moviepics/wotwposter.jpg [/img] Does anyone know anything about this? There is nothing else on the web that I could see..

Yeah Nerfy, I was just as stunned as you were, reading FutureDirector's post... wtf??? To bad the link to the trailer goes around in a loop and sends you back to the main page. And the pics on the actors website don't tell much either. Anyhoo, I'm curious...

This one is, as FD said, a direct to video and no doubt channel 5's buyers will put in a bid. It's bizarre.. the FM's look like giant crabs, it's another updated film and they seem to have C.Thomas (the straight to video Tom Cruise incarnate) as the saviour of the world. Quite how they can in all honesty, and with straight faces, use the 'HG Wells' part, I can't fathom. Oh, and the poster is a blatent rip off of the ID4 one. Regardless.. it sprang out of nowhere and I'd like to know more. How did you find that FD?

And how about the logo? If that isn't a rip of off Pendragon, what is it?

www.theasylum.cc/pictures/moviepics/wotwposter.jpg [/img] I don't now what it is, I cant put my finger on it, but something does not seem right about this. Its hard to explain, but I have this funny feeling (nothing to do with anything I ate). I could be WAY off, its just this feeling I get when looking at the poster.

You mean it could be a spoof? Well, who knows... -Gnorn Not a 'spoof' in a comedy sense. I look at the poster and get a 'someones taking the p*** here'.

I originaly found it in a post on waroftheworldsfilm.com then I did some serching. The website has the film. "killer ants king" or w/e. Ive seen that at my local blockbuster. So these movies im guessing are real. What I found out is that this was under the title INVASION for awile. I donno if they just decided to change it to wotw to get even with pendragon lol. Under productions then the pics under post production you can see a bi-tripod. from that pic it looks like 3 sets of 2 legs so... mayb 2 legs count as 1 in this. The heat ray in the post pic is a green light but the tripod look like the quality of a made for tv movie. O well... I will still see any movie that has a plot close to wotw.

I know what you mean Horsell.. Stranger things have happened but something appears to be rotten in Denmark, as the saying goes. the company appear to specialise in 'retellings' of classic stories, so there could be something to it.

Bizarre! I wonder if Paramount have put this out in an effort to confuse and take business away from Pendragon. I smell a rat.

ty, but the person who found it was Katharsys on the wotwfilm forum. But there has been rumors about a "wotw" movie in june coming to dvd. Most people still don't know what version it is. Then i found out it was the rerelese of george pal. But this is supposed to be coming out on june 28th... a day b4 the big one. So... Maybe Pendragon got bought out by these guys on the logo topic lol. Im gonna check suncoast.com for the other movies if they are out. But i trust this to be relesed. Would like to know more though, like budget, trailer to work.

I assume if it is a wind up C. Thomas Howell and Jake Busey would have to be in on it. I wonder who they have contracts with.. if anyone.

Hang on a tick. That's obviously a play on words from the film 'The Night That Panicked America' from the 70's. Are we sure we aren't getting that mixed up with that and also with that documentary that has been discussed recently and turned up on Amazon? Perhaps that docu is actually this film and not a docu at all?

Not a 'spoof' in a comedy sense. I look at the poster and get a 'someones taking the p*** here'. Maybe the Thistle Theatre puppets are in on it!
