Sorry to see you go Rob. As one of the earliest members I can say that you've made this the most informative, entertaining and hospitable TWOW site on the net. Thanks for those great years!
I'm glad that a new forum is being created as we speak. This is a unique community that has to be kept intact.
Just a question? Why creating a new site when Evilnerfherder can continue this one?
Take care Rob!
Cheers!

I think it's best that way, new start, new beginning, look forward to the future forgetting all the craziness of the past.
It's just how I'd like to do things.

Bloody hell! That's a bit of a shock. Even during my quiet times on this forum, WOTW Online and this community have been a big thing to me. Rob- after almost giving up on finding decent WOTW coverage on the Web, your site was an oasis for me as such a big fan of the musical and book. You really have done a stirling job here in not only maintaining it all through your degree (a difficult time I'm sure- I'm not ejicated past A levels so wouldn't really know), jobseeking and constant house-hopping, but in keeping the harmony of the forum strong despite the odd hurdle or two! I'm very sad that it's ending but respect your need for a life! (get away from that bloody computer and go out for heaven's sake!). It's a shame as we've all become good webfriends/bitter webrivals etc- it's affected us all, I'm sure we'll all say "for the better". I'll be happy to keep in touch with everyone online- some great input here has really changed my perspective and what I've got out of the book and other related stuff too. There'll still be more WOTW news, of course as Jeff Wayne's keeping the dream alive and let's hope someone does finally make a good authentic movie/TV series. Rob- I hope you'll keep in touch on the (new) forum (or via email?- addy's in my account or pm me). I'll second Thunderchild's comments too- why start a new forum when this one is working fine? Nerfy, Poyks, Banye and whoever else moderates, much respect for wishing to keep up the good work- I'm sure your efforts are sometimes less obviously noticed, though always appreciated. Everyone else- you're great! Don't go far... Phew- is that it? Er.... Bit of a speech then...! Curious though pops into my heed- I wonder how Krys666 is doing these days and what he'd make of it!!! (not trying to stir owt just a thought! )

The 2nd forum i joined when i started infecting the internet all those years ago was of course the Outpos...Opps...War of the Worlds Online. In that time i,ve met some wonderful people... Poyks, EvilNerfus, Rob, Cap'n Bayne, Charles, Demon Angel , Thunderchild (thanks for the 1938 WOTW CD Thunders), Horsell, Donut Donal, Chantale, Rusti, Fallingstar, Tripod, Steann...And many many more. Of course i,ve had my run in's and mad moments but i love this forum with all my heart and out of all the forums i,ve made suffer in torment this has given me the most pleasure and for that alone out of many things i thank Rob and wish him all the best for the future. Brit-Brat / David Faltskog.

It's sad to see the forums go. I'll be joining Nerf's forums when they go up. This place has always been great. I first joined it because I could discuss something that interested me and others.
I do respect Rob's decision, though.

Although i'm one of the more 'passionate' members of this forum, i loved the close knit like quality of the boards.

Thanks so much Rob, for setting up a wonderful forum and allowing me to join one of the best communities I have had the pleasure in being part of online. I am looking forward to continuing on with the rest of you all on the new forum. I think part of the problem was the constant bashing of opposing opinions amongst other things. Perhaps, with the co-operation of all the members, we should keep the 'bashing' down on the next forum site, and keep things respectable, whilst hopefully still having a laugh here and there. A toast to you, Rob. I take my hat off to you sir.

It's great to see everyone wanting to keep this community together. As I said, I'm working on making a new board.. one that (I hope) will keep the great community spirit we have here alive. I really am pleased to see everyone supporting this new endeavour and I think we can all take this thing to new heights. When the bones of the new site are ready I'll post it up and then I will be asking for your input. The new site will obviously have a large WotW section (similar to those here) but will also have sections which will allow the members to talk about other sci fi and horror too. The theme, basically, is going to be 'fantastical film and fiction'. Then, we can see over time what works and what does not, and we can take it from there. It's going to be fun! If anyone has anything they particularly want to see, let me know and I'll see if we can fit it in...

It's like a well loved local pub is closing down . I completely understand though, and I'd like to thank Rob for making such a friendly welcoming place exist in the first place. But as has already been said it's the people that make a place, more so when the place itself doesn't actually exist in the real world. I hope we'll all be having friendly 'arguments' about minor plot ambiguites in Nerfy's new forum before too long. You're all wonderful human beings, and I hope that the spirit of this forum will live on. May the spirit of the planet be with you all, Stuart Glennie (the Stewymartian)

It's been a privilege to be a member here, Rob. A wonderful community of artists, musicians writers and creators. You and the moderators have done a tremendous job, and will doubtless continue to do so.
Nerf, you've a wisdom I'm sure will follow in Rob's footsteps. And look forward to seeing both acquaintances and friends, on what is sure to be a splendid new forum.
The best to you all untill then and looking forward to the future!

Well, the forum is alive! It's pretty damn bare and basic so far and it needs a LOT of work, but at least everyone will have somewhere to post whilst I get busy jazzing it up. Feel free to join up and please offer any suggestions, if you have them. You can find the forum at... evilnerfherder.proboards78.com/index.cgiSee you there!
