I also got frustrated by the lack of attention given the tripods. As a wargamer, I relished the aspect of a martian invasion. So I searched for a way to make then. First with balsa wood, then modeling clay. Nothing was working. Then, Burger King came out with the WildWild West toys. Low and behold the Tarantula was perfect. I seperated the 2 halves, attatching the legs to the bottom. Cutting the leftover legs at the joints, was perfect arms for holding the heat ray and smoke box. I used thick wire for the tentacles. Painted it an aluminium color and the British empire has never been the same. You should be able to find some on Ebay.

Hello and welcome to the site, thefreemason. Your model sounds cool. Got any pictures of it in it's modified form you could post so we can see how it looks?

Sorry, yes. I am looking for a picture. For some strange reason we never take photos of our games. I believe the only picture I have is an unfinished model. But I will still post.
Thanks
