Had a thought before... surely with any game incarnation of TWOTW you would just have to straffe (hide) for a bit until the common bacterium does its work.
Then hey presto you've won the campaign. No Hi Score though.
Also what was the point of Hi Score tables in Spectrum games? Every time you loaded the game back in the table had reset to the usual Eastern names.

You could make a good 'stealth' game out of it though.

LOL! Yes -there is a definite conclusion to this- like a game set on the Titanic!
Though there is much scope with, as Nerfy pointed out, avoiding being spotted by the Martians, managing resources (perhaps building a shelter, rationing food supplies) and interacting with NPC's with great AI and their own agendas. Or even the chance to start as a variety of characters. In fact, WOTW would make a fantastic action RPG come to think of it- it would have to be first person to really benefit from the scares/atmosphere I think.
Any developers up to the challenge?

Although it does have a definite ending, so does World War II and there must be infinite games based on that, anything is possible ;D
