Is it true that the gaming world is over populated by male players?

I couldn't get on my machines when my ex-girlfriend was round. She was always playing some RPG or other. Come to think of it, I couldn't get on my ex girlfriend when games were around... (j/k) Yes, girls play games but I suppose there are more male than female gamers.

Nice story there Nerfy! I must remember that one! ;D "Come to think of it, I couldn't get on my ex girlfriend when games were around... ". But isn't that always the way...? Did she or you ever play the best game in the world ever? The Ledgend of Zelda Ocerina of Time? I can't wait for the new game coming soon!

I find that the gaming community around where I live, is often 50/50.
With that being said though, girls actually appear more Hardcore while men more casual.

I've been involved in several role-playing gamer groups over the past 30 years. There have been few female gamers in those groups, and most of those were wives/girlfriends of regular gamers. The unattached females never stayed in the games for long.

I'd have to say that yes, females do play video games too. Proof: I love playing computer games. ;D I have been taking a class on video games that allows me to 'study' them (i.e play them , and am now making one as part of the final project for that unit right now. No prizes for guessing what I've managed to persuade my team to work into it ;D And the class is not all male (it is mostly male, but there are quite a few females too)

Lensman, that's an interesting point, because while its not technically a video game, I met my ex-fiancee at a Warhammer club ran in the local cult shop.
It sold figurines, graphic novels, spin-off books, anime DVDs, T-Shirts and the like, and the upstairs was a row of gaming tables open to the public to go and play on with no fee, and thats where we met.
Just thought that added to your point -Smiles-

With a special extra version of it tha is said to be 10times as hard with nearly completely different maps everywhere! I'm not sure if it was releaced over here, I think it was, but I know it was a Collectors Edition and a limited number were made. I don't think the graphics weree redone or anything but I still would be good if I owned it!

It's a second disc that comes free with Wind Waker. Don't think it's especially hard to find, I had it, but it only works with tvs that support 60hz mode, which mine didn't. Mind you, I just got an N64 again (off ebay for a tenner!),so I'm camped out in front of Ocarina and Banjo -Kazooie with copious amounts of German lager...

Banjo and Kazzoie was brilliant! I got 100%!!! Even the two extra jiggies that do nothing in the game!
I never completed Banjo Tooie though...
