Why did they even bother? Up until I had seen it I assumed it was a British competitor to the Spielberg film ... uh, no.
This has to be the most visually disappointing film I have ever seen. I really laughed at the Thunder Child CGI. I've seen better graphics on twenty year old video games. Any shot that required a scenic background was CGI, and it was far from seamless. Everything about this film just reaked of poor production, right down to the journalists fake moustach'e. Couldn't he have just grown one? Sorry Pendragon ... two big thumbs down.

Welcome to the forum, jeffscott! If you read the "MOVIE REVIEWS ONLY" thread, you'll see plenty of agreement with your opinions.

Hi Jeffscott and welcome. Strangely enough tonight I decided to watch the film again. I got as far as the 'artilleryman' before returning to my senses, and hitting the eject button.

They should do a 'Piana' cut where it's just the bits of old Ant mugging and leering at people and saying 'What neeeeeews today?' I find those bits hysterical. The rest is pants.

They should strap prisoners of war into chairs and force them to watch it over and over and over etc.... until they start talking.

Surely, subjecting people to such horrors is against the Geneva Convention?

On a serious note: I am very curious about when the actors involved will finally make comments about the movie themselfs.

Depends on the conditions of the blanket non-disclosure agreements Timbo apparently required all involved to sign, and if those have a time limit.

Question is though.....................does anyone really care? They'll only come up with the same pretentious bollox as Hines. Things like - "Tim is such a marvellous director who really had an empathy and understanding for Wells original vision" "Every part of the book was painstakingly recreated - even down to Wells description of the 'fake moustache' the journalist wore" "Timmy bent over backwards to accomodate our large schedule - even going so far as to bring us the finest Wines [ and alocopops ] - to help us forget the unfolding disaster we were involved in"

I think the comedy redubs were better. made more sence too!
the actual film was like spooning your eyes out with old rusty coathangers and then scraping the sockets with wire wool dipped in vinegar.

I ocasionally play the BlackMoon spoof, brilliant stuff, though crude, never fails to raise a smile.

Feck me i couldnt do that. Slicing chunks out of your arm like that Michael Biehn guy from the Abyss would be less painful.

Tommy wanted a knock out party. So he decided to put PP WOTW on.
Sure enough, when it started - everyone knocked themselves out......

I still haven't seen it.
But I almost want to... y'know, just to see how bad it is.
Not enough to buy a copy obviously, but still... I'm really intrigued by how awful it is...
... and by Piana's moustache, obviously.
And the parody dub video is funny, bit too crude to myself, but with enough laughs to make up for it. "Geromino!" being my fave bit in Python stylee voice.

Actually, just watched the latter trailer for nostalgia reasons. The bit where the woman says, "No, they're all the same," does weird things to the fascination/comedy centres of my brain due to the bizarrely carefully ennunciated nature of her sentence - or possibly because she sounds drugged up.
That and Ogilvy's astonishingly hammy voice over.
*Must resist asking one of you to forward me copy of film. Resist. Resist.*
