I haven't seen the film (only the comedy version ;D), but I saw a picture of something that looked like a cow or something on one of the screenshots. Alot of people were also talking about this cow thing on the movie so now i'm really curious Does anyone have any info on it???

It's literally just a CGI cow looking thing that gets sucked dry by the martians and shrinks to a pulp. It's quite brief, but facinatingly amusing!

I have seen more convincing cows made with 'Fuzzy Felt' I have NEVER seen a cow like that before. I bet even Sir David Attenborough would have problems identifying it. It kind of remonds me of one of those mechanical 'Bucking Bronco' cows. I half expected to see a Martian jump onto it and ride it with its half gallon hat being swung about in the air - yeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaa.

It's been suggested by some that it actually is some sort of alien creature. Because the writer calles it "some kind of beast". This actaully doesn't make sence and my personal view is that it is, endeed, a poorly rendered CGI cow.

They could have done this scene so much better. A shame really because the Martians aren't that bad at all. They move too fast, shure, but the design itself isn't bad in my opinion.
The noises the Martians make in this scene sounded familiar to me. Then it struck me: the sounds are exactly the same as the sounds made by those little cat-like monsters in the videogame "Lo Wang is Shadow Warrior". Rermember that one? "Who wante some Wang?" ;D ;D

it is actually meant to be one of the small beasts the martians bring with them from mars. It is rather badly done sadly

If that is food bought for the martians from Mars, so it is the ONLY living thing then on Mars that resembles a living creature on Earth then!. The martians look jack diddly squot like us, but the martian food source however looks like an U.S cow, and why does it look like a U.S cow, because it is a chuffing cow!.
It's got four legs, a cows body, a cows head shape, cows horns - so there for it must be a piece of freshly seasoned red salmon.

Lol! It must be a cow or at least the .. ermm... CGI version of one. Remember how similar the singing lady and her CGI 'stunt double' looked? And the CGI horse and cart? And the soldiers marching on the spot? And the sideways travelling Thunderchild? Need I go on? It's a cow. I don't recall one in the book, though. Anyway,I certainly wouldn't eat a steak off that.

Lest we forget, Lightwave comes with a stock object cow. A bit of some very bad modelling modification and you have your "alien beast" Groan... at least they could have made it look vaugely less like a cow. Not only has this FX guy apparently not handled FX work before, I'd be amazed if he's used LW for more than 1 week hehe...
