There were only two 'anti hinds members here in the beginning. myself and a chap called Motile. Mr M has long gone from here and ive been proven right that hinds was out of his depth. however i consider it a hollow victory becaus ive yet to see a new movie of WOTW that has really impressed me yet. Roll on JW. No offense meant but you were proven right on nothing. You had an opinion we just wanted to wait and see to form our own. Now we've seen it and formed our own. It doesnt make you right based on the evidence of the trailers. I wonder how many times you stated your hopes were really pinned on Speilberg, only to later say you had them dashed to to four winds (to use a quote  ). The lessons learend here are trailers, and hype means nothing to the actual product. And only that proves worth making the real opinion on. |

I'm with HC and Nerf on this, by the sounds of things the film is clearly not worth generating this much static about. It's a load of junk and whether or not Tim Hines was cut off at the knees while trying to make it is irrelevent now. The "finished" product has been release and will and has been judged accordingly. No point TH bitching about it now.

We really are interested in the truth here.. the trouble is, people who support Hines' 'theories' (and these days there are so few of them) tend to get stick because there has been no proof forthcoming whatsoever that any of them are true. Worse still, they sound just mad enough for him to attract criticism for it. If he would care to come on here and show us proof that everyone really is out to get him, we'd be happy to see it and it would get as fair a crack of the whip as we could allow legally. If he doesn't want to, but keeps on spouting this nonsense, we shall keep ragging at him for slinging cowpats at everyone else because his flick wasn't up to scratch..At the moment, it looks like he is just trying to fling crap around and hoping that some of it sticks. Nobody else is playing and he is just making himself look daft. You don't have to agree with this, I'm just saying how I see it. It's true the self-styled 'Anti-Hines Brigade' on this site were critical about this flick from the start. They were in the minority at one point, as I'm sure they will be pleased to tell you. Most of us, as Ashe Raven said, waited until we'd seen the film, then came to pretty much the same conclusions. Things slid even more when T.H started his little crusade. He only has himself to blame for the feeling on this site, and many others come to think of it. |

I expected this kind of cr*p and mentioned it yesterday. Am I "so Tim Hines" because I don't agree with you? It's really paranoid to think anybody who doesn't move in lock step with the Jeff Wayne party line is Timbo or a Timbo shill. According to some on here, Timbo is either everwhere or nowhere, depending on how you want to slice him up. Can't have it both ways but that won't stop some from trying. On the Pendragon movie, I thought it was okay. But just okay. I t wasn't nearly as bad as some have said. I actually enjoyed the first hour but then it slowly wore me down. I actually liked the fighting machines and I thought the CURATE did a good job. I would be very interested to see the re-cut to see what Timbo has done to stay the boredom factor, if anything. Also, I thought the Spielberg film missed and was rushed and I have posted my thoughts about Tom Cruise crawling up into the anus scene. Jeff Wayne's music show was probably pretty darn cool when it came out in the 70's. But it's dated and I thought his redo only muddied it. I have very little faith in his CGI movie. If Robert Zemeckis and all the money in the world couldn't pull off CGI people with his Christmas train movie, then I don't see how Jeff Wayne with far less budget is going to make believable people. His bug-like walkers will be okay, but the how he does the people will make or break it and I don't see any people imagery from the stuff he's put out. A solid WAR OF THE WORLDS is yet to come, in my opinion.
I don't think the Amazon stuff was Timbo. He said in an interview that it's very small potatos. There are some positive reviews that ring true and some negative ones. My guess is maybe somebody who worked for him or a relative of somebody who worked for him vs Mctoddridesagain. Mctodd seems very proud of his many posts on Amazon. Anyway. I'm not personally attacking anybody. I'm stating my view. Surely this site allows views other than just, Jeff Wayne is some kind of second coming deity. Grow up already. Or at the very least comminicate in a civilised manner.

George. I have to say, you really aren't doing your cause any favours with your arguments so far. By trying to deflect any criticism on your ideas back onto the person criticising with kneejerk mud flinging is making you sound exactly like the person you are trying not to be associated with. Why do you persist in insinuating that we who work on this site are puppets for Jeff Wayne when you have NO proof and everyone else knows this to be false? In fact, I sometimes wish I was getting paid by someone for all the work I do on these sites, I daresay Horsell feels the same. We have absolutely no reason to be swayed by any pressure from ANY party let alone Jeff's, we do it for the hell of it and because we are fans, so change the record on that. We do NOT work for Jeff Wayne here. Got it? Also, McTodd, Rusti and I have (perhaps famously to anyone who has been a member here for any length of time) not always shared the same opinions, but I certainly would not consider saying that perhaps one of Timbo's most vehement critics is in fact the person behind the Amazon 'love notes'. Just to cut through all the crap, Timbo's version isnt very good, JW's version is a masterpeice (and i mince my words not)!!
So, in forgetting whats been said by anyone, that will always remain. I have listened to JW's WotW more times than I can count..........I havnt been able to bring myself to watch Timbo's version all the way through yet & I dont think I ever will.
So I may be on the side of JW and not too forgiving with Timmy, but its not to do with anything that anybody has said, I just prefer to delight my ears than make my eyes suffer.
