Well, i don´t have the oportunity to see the re-cut version. Is imposible. Anyone can post the diferent points between this and the original one (new scenes, deleted scenes, improved fx...)?
But without irony, please, all of us like the jokes but i have curiosity...

It's supposedly a recut version of the movie.. but, from what I can gather, from the few people who have bothered to seek it out, they have just removed some of the walking scenes and done little (or nothing) else.
Pointless.

They cut out all of those scenes were you can see the lead walking to Horsell Common, back home, back to Horsell Common, to Lord Hilton, back to Horsell Common etc. This only makes the film shorter. It seems some of the CGI was improved but I doubt it that this has actually improved the movie...
What I did noticed is that some scenes of the Black Moon recut had a scene of little kids making turning motions with their hands, while I could not find this scene in the version I have. Also, when Piana is walking with the artilleryman the sky is bloodred, while in the original the sky has a normal colour...
