Hi, virtually any cheapo dvd player will run against any region because software to check region codes is additional manufacture cost and not loaded. Funnily enough, its the more expensive dvd players which may have this region code checker and wont play incompatibale dvd's. Either way, you can get override codes to make your dvd player run any region. Here's one of many sites with the codes required: www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks.php?select=Magnavox+MPD700 . Simply type in your model! dalek

Go to video help.com they have hacks to unlock almost every kind of DVD player to play multi region, all DVD players start life multi region then get a pass key locked onto them to restrict them, cheaper to make them this way

If anyone in England has a copy and would be willing to loan it out for the cost of P&P I'd be interested in seeing it. Yes, I know it's a travesty, but sometimes, you just want to see it for yourself.

... Sometimes, you just want to see it for yourself. I agree, I want to watch this version of WotW by any means necessary ASAP. I don't much care how bad most reviews/reviewers make it out to be, I just want to see the story from the novel portrayed accurately as a film - Pendragon's version seems to boast exactly that, so even if it turns out to be bad I still gotta see it. I still hope, apparently in vane, for this to be released in British cinemas, but as DVD has already been released I'll make do with a Region 2 - PAL version on DVD when (if) it gets released here. To that end, would anyone here please let me know when/if such an official release hits the UK? Or at least where I can find the various up-coming release dates online? (I've tried: official site, IMDB, Wikipedia and Amazon so far but can't find the info I'm after.)

Releasing this turd of a film in England would be about as welcome as releasing Ian Huntley...

According to the sites I've visited, the Region-2 version of the director's cut is in NTSC format instead of PAL. I'm not sure my system is capable of handling NTSC, or how I'd get hold of a legit version here in the UK...
Since I haven't seen this version yet, the following comments will obviously have no solid grounds, but I thought I'd just say that saying how s**t you think something is (ie this film) in every single one of your posts, no matter the thread-title, is going a bit OTT IMO. This is not aimed at anyone specific, but I'm getting fed up reading the same person saying essentially the same thing over and over in slightly different ways everywhere I look.
Well, that's my 2 cents worth on the matter, I'll stop bi*ching now 'cos someone's bound to flame me otherwise.

Remember, its not just your DVD but your TV that must be able to handle NTSC...
