I too, somehow actually enjoyed the PP film......I don't know how, either. For some reason, when it came to Anthony Piana's performance as the writer (Much better than his performance as the brother for some odd reason.) from the Curate scene through to the end, I found myself highly impressed with this performance. It's as if somewhere down the line, he found the proper motivation, and ran with it. If it wasn't for the length, I would expect this to show up on the sci-fi channel soon.

If you want to know what I thought of it check the thread I started SO MUCH FOR THE FILM OF THE DECADE. I think you can guess my reaction before you even read the thread.

The problem wth this film is it's far longer than it ever should have been. Ive said it previously, Hines should have shortened and concentrated on quality instead of quantity.
There are some descent scenes in that film but it's spoilt by alot of pointless extra. The walking took way to long. I dont live in Woking but I bet the walking to Weybridge took almost as long as it would in real life.
I enjoyed alot of sequences in the film but I also hated alot of it.

A good, victorean moustache was the backbone of the British Empire. Kept the upper lip stiff, what! Something occured to me. How many great stars had moustaches? Genuine ones. Theres Burt Reynolds, erm! I'm sure theres others I just can't think of any more! No Bollywood, please.

It's not that hard to think of great stars that have usually performed with moustaches. Off the top of my head, some of the ones I can think of are Omar Shariff, Clark Gable, David Niven, and of course Charlie Chaplin. (I think Charlie's was real--let me know if it wasn't!)

Some good ones. David Niven could sport a moustache without it distracting us from his performance.
I found it hard to imagine the writer(who I always thought as HG) without the moustache. Yet it was a little irritating sometimes.

Not a film star?
Haven't you ever watched him at those Nuremburg rallies, or his September 1939 gig at the Reichstag?
Solid gold, mate, solid gold! He was the Al Pacino of his day.

How many sported their mooooooooostashes their whole career? Goerge Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Matt Dillon wore them for specific parts or were part timers. Johnny Depp was a beard(POTC).
