I know Mr. Hines is very much occupied by the completion of his upcoming movie, but nowadays, with the medium of DVD, thinking of content is also very important and part of the movie production. I'm thinking of what we all like to have included with the DVD boxed-set (yes, boxed-set, because only the movie won't do :-)
- I certainly want the released teasers and to-be-released trailer(s) included. - Audio-commentary by Mr. Hines and cast (and Charles maybe?). - Extensive behind-the-scenes looks, production reports, how the crew set out on recreating the War of the Worlds. - Creating the special effects.
Your ideas are welcome here.

Concept art and a behind the scenes documentary following the filming (if anyone was filming the filming). The best and most comprehensive DVD features I've seen so far are for the LotR films on the extended DVD's. A truly mindblowing amount of behind the scenes stuff.

"Space To Let.."
I would like to rent some space please Nerfy. If you have any going about top right, 100 miles off the Moon would do me nicely.

[glow=red,2,300]I definatly want a short film of The Crystal Egg as an extra!
A documentary on War of the Worlds and its importance to scifi and literature would be nice too. (Maybe the Great Books one?)
An easter egg (ie a hidden feature) or two would be great also.
I also second Gnorn and EvilNerfherder's suggestions! [/glow]

I still have to read the Crystal Egg (didn't even know of it till I came here and heard you lot talk about it). I'll doubt it will be on the DVD, because from what I've read, Mr. Hines then has to design and create a whole Martian society from scratch. Not something to be pulled of in a short amount of time. Alas.
Yes, a documantery about WOTW in general (radio play, JW's musical and all other influences) would be nice. Also the great books episode. Haven't seen that either, but what gives? But copyrights and the likes might come into play here.
Heck, one can make a DVD boxed set as big as a Martian's head to fit on all WOTW related stuff. It's everywhere!

it wouldn't be that hard to recreate just what the shopkeeper saw in the crystal... after all, it was just two scenes, one forward view and one rear view. i've created more complex scenes than those descriptions using 3DS Max

LV426 is going cheap at the moment if you fancy it. And there may well be some land free on Mars soon as I believe the occupants are moving.

H_C, I've heard the previous occupants of LV426 made quite a mess of the place. If moving there, you might want to bring your scaffold.

I've now read The Crystal Egg, and I agree, it could be done. Whether it get's done, is another question. Would make a nice little prequel though. And a nice easter egg (Bayne!)

[glow=red,2,300]LOL
I definately want to see a lot of the Martians and tripods etc in the behind the scenes material.
Some interviews with cast and crew would be good too. [/glow]

With all the new stuff popping up lately (thanks, Mr. Hines!) I think it would be great to have cast and crew interviews and views on how the FX where done. I'd love to see how the crew has gone about recreating the cilinder falling on the house (I love those pictures).
Also, it would be great to hear about the research gone into this project (notice the book laying open with a picture of a warship in the picture of James Lathrop checking out the Thunderchild CGI).

One thing I'd love to see as an extra: A modern day History Channel style documentary, as if the War had actually happened. I can't remember if the Victorians had Moving pictures, but it'd be brilliant to watch a documentary with degraded "archive" photos & footage, intercut with the modern London landscape with the sentinal "reminder" fighting machine.

Hey its not a dig saying its gunna end up on budget DVD, Dune is on budget DVD with no extras (apart from a rubbish trailer) and thats one of my top movies, it was also a flop in the states but a sleeper hit in europe.
If I feel the need to dig PP I will do it directly so please dont take these statements as such, I believe the lack of any info of a British release tells us its going to DVD as its never been on the cinema here it will probably be budget DVD and if money for distribution is tight they wont include many extras.
