To be fair to Jeff most of the things proposed are just that at this stage... proposals. Currently, Jeff and co are primarily concerned with making a quality tour and movie. The Tour has grown due to sheer public demand. What started as a few dates has ended up twice as big than was first planned, so no-one can accuse Jeff of not wanting to deliver what is asked of him. That all in turn came from the runaway success of the album re-release. After living with the album for as long as he has, I believe Jeff will do the best he can to provide a quality film based around the story and his musical. We know he is concerned with quality of products that he gets involved with. As an example, recently the vinyl album re-release has been put back to April and they deliberately missed out on the lucrative Xmas market in order to make the product as high quality as possible. When it arrives, the film may not be exactly what some of the more 'hardcore' novel fans are after (who knows?), but it will, I'm sure, please those who are fans of his work. Going back to the other projects mentioned.. if the Tour does as well as it looks like it is going to with the tickets sales added up, I see no reason why more projects won't be realised. I have to agree that I don't think that everything that has been suggested will materialise, but I DO think that Jeff Wayne's version of The War of The Worlds has plenty more possibilities to offer yet. Really, whilst I agree with one or two of the points here, I just think that questioning Jeff's committment to quality is a little unfair as I know that quality is very important to him. I also know that he does take on board what we tell him about fan reactions to things he does and we will continue to pass on any constructive comments to him. Any idea what is going on with the 26 part tv series Nerfy? According to Variety it was to aire the first episode 18 months before the release of the CGI film which i believe is scheduled for late 2007/2008. If that information is correct that would mean the tv series should be released either early 2007, or late 2006. Anthony

Hopefully not sounding offensive at all to JW and co here but maybe they have bitten off too much to swallow. Film, tv series, possible games, theme park ride, UK tour, chinese spectacular, merchindise all in the space of 2-3 years. For some reason i cant see all of those happening, well not in that time. We shall see anyhow. Anthony Everyone is entitled to their dreams, be it real or not, and weather they go ahead or not. Jeff has and will always maintain that he wants to see a faithful version of the book. He did his musical, a fresh approach to the story and todate the most faithful. Lets just say he is commited to a film and he has anouced through various media's.

I'm assuming that all other plans are on hold at the moment due to the amount of work the Tour is making, but Horsell has asked about the series. We'll see what Jeff says.

I agree that Jeff wants the best, and will strife to achieve it, I just worry for us, AND Jeff, that his best won't be good enough, since he will be too strained.
But, right now, I'm happy to just sit back and wait. I'd rather have the film come out in 2012 than 2008, if it meant it being better, because really, quality should come first, and in strifing for that, if not nessecarily achieveing it, I trust Jeff.

Like the film, the series has been put on hold until the tour is complete, though things are being talked with the Japanese. We are expected a update during the latter part of Spring regarding the TV series.

from what I have gathered the tour is going to be more elabourate than I had expected, I thought it would be quite simple just like a concert and that a big musical with acting and huge props was due in a few years but I have heard talk of "acting" and "special effects" spoken about when reffering to this year's. No wonder they are too busy.

Acting? I haven't heard about that. I expect the dialogue will be spoken but I don't know about people actually 'acting' out the scenes. From what Jeff has said, I understand it to be a concert but with a lot going on visually as well. Big video screens, perhaps some pyrotechnics, etc. But, whatever it turns out to be, it is keeping them very busy. We're only 4 months away now.

I think "Refugee" is referring to those taking their parts on the stage during the show as there is acting alongside singing. Unlike the album which is purely a recording, the live shows will require acting from the singers.

Thanks HC that is what I meant, I have heard some refference to acting, not in the sense of acting out each scene but some sort of visual accompanyment as you said Nerf.

The film isn't due until 2008. But you can look at the CGI for the Tour as an indicator of what can be expected. Having said that, a lot can change in two years.

Or are they further into the film that we think? We'lll see the trailor when it's done and there ready to release it. Of all the people who know how it's going and when it's ready it will be Jeff (unlike your comment of he hasn't got a clue). We are ALL eager to see the film, but after waiting 28 years SO FAR, give people a break and have some patience.

To make time fly how about we all get ourselves carbon frozen or something like that.
Then we wake up in 2 years time and the film will (hopefully) be finished.
