Im in the mood for something new, some more test footage or unseen concept art, seems like ages since any news came out about this film, I know they are busy with the tour and everything but the peeps at envious eyes must have done something new.

Afraid not, Refugee. It's a bummer but I guess we'll have to wait.

I've been thinking this recently- (starting to return to the forum again as I'm now fully broadbanded up (is broadband a music group girls can be in?!))- it would be nice to see some fresh little teases- and something new from the movie in progress! But understanding that Envious Eyes are probably rushed of their eyelids at the moment, I'll be nicely patient and not moan.
much.

It would appear that the film has been put on the "back burner" (as the old saying goes) for a while. JWM are concentrating on the 2006 tour.
We all are eager to see not only "new" footage, but any news about the film, we have asked, we have tried, we can't do no more, if no news comes our way, we can't release it and if we have been told they are concentrating on the tour more than the film, then what else can we say.
In the mean time, lets "us" concentrate on other things and let them (JWM) do what they need to do and release what they want to release in there own time and hope that we (WOTWOnline) get the information for all you eager fans out there.

Obviously the tour is more important at this time, the tour as many of you already now starts in April, so all concentration is projected on that. Once that is out of the way they will turn once again towards the film.

Yes, Horsell has stated the official line right now. As he says, we can only ask.. we can't force them to give us news. I have made some suggestions to them for things people would like to hear about.. we'll see if anything comes of it.

Shades of Timothy Hines Batman!!! Hey, maybe Hines is really Jeff Wayne in disguise all along!

We've told you before that there will be little, if any, news on the movie while the tour is being prepped. If that makes Jeff like Tim Hines then you go right ahead and say so if it makes you feel better. I can't see it myself but there you go. The Tour will, in itself, contain teasers for the movie. The CGI team are working on both so you will be able to gain a good idea of what is to come within the visuals for the Tour.

Hopefully not sounding offensive at all to JW and co here but maybe they have bitten off too much to swallow. Film, tv series, possible games, theme park ride, UK tour, chinese spectacular, merchindise all in the space of 2-3 years.
For some reason i cant see all of those happening, well not in that time.
We shall see anyhow.

Or they will all come out, but be poor quality.
I love Jeff Wayne, and his music for War of the Worlds, but its a big leap to film, and it could turn out terrible, or excellent.
To say I have low expectations, especially after hearing talk of a Martian opening etc, is an understatment, although, at least its better than seeing this as the Second Coming, and only being dissapointed.
I agree with Anthony, they are taking this all too far, too quickly.

To be fair to Jeff most of the things proposed are just that at this stage... proposals. Currently, Jeff and co are primarily concerned with making a quality tour and movie. The Tour has grown due to sheer public demand. What started as a few dates has ended up twice as big than was first planned, so no-one can accuse Jeff of not wanting to deliver what is asked of him. That all in turn came from the runaway success of the album re-release. After living with the album for as long as he has, I believe Jeff will do the best he can to provide a quality film based around the story and his musical. We know he is concerned with quality of products that he gets involved with. As an example, recently the vinyl album re-release has been put back to April and they deliberately missed out on the lucrative Xmas market in order to make the product as high quality as possible. When it arrives, the film may not be exactly what some of the more 'hardcore' novel fans are after (who knows?), but it will, I'm sure, please those who are fans of his work. Going back to the other projects mentioned.. if the Tour does as well as it looks like it is going to with the tickets sales added up, I see no reason why more projects won't be realised. I have to agree that I don't think that everything that has been suggested will materialise, but I DO think that Jeff Wayne's version of The War of The Worlds has plenty more possibilities to offer yet. Really, whilst I agree with one or two of the points here, I just think that questioning Jeff's committment to quality is a little unfair as I know that quality is very important to him. I also know that he does take on board what we tell him about fan reactions to things he does and we will continue to pass on any constructive comments to him.

[glow=purple,2,300]To be fair, we shouldn't keep badgering them for more - I'm happy simply to wait until the movie is finished. I'm happy if it's delayed, as long as it eventually is released. This is Jeff's vision - not ours, and it's unfair to impose our views on the team, and possibly demoralise them (like with the complaints over the "hulks @rse" design of the FMs eyes).
I'd prefer the test footage to be available on the DVD, to be viewed after seeing the movie - otherwise where is the jaw-dropping astonishment. For instance, to see JWs FMs in motion is a dream come true...but when I see it in the movie, it won't be for the first time, so some mystique has been lost. Oh well...
As long as Jeff's happy with EnviousEyes progress, I have no concerns about the movie, or desire to pester for more footage. [/glow]
