I agree. Some of the songs just...have to make it in. Even if just a musical back score. I can't imagine though...being interested in Wayne's CG version if it's not a musical. From what we've seen it looks great...but we're already getting at least two renditions of the story. Well, I have faith in Waynes. He'll come up with something original and retell the story with class.

Yeah, Forever Autumn HAS to be in there, though I hope the images that accompany the song don't get too sappy. Maybe a shot of an autumn leaf blowing past the Journalist, then the camera follows the leaf up into the sky, then more leaves blow past camera, almost like a disolve, then when the leaves pass, London before the invasion is revealed from a birds eye view, then the camera pans down and we see Carrie, and she turns to camera, and the Journalist comes from out, of frame taking her arm. Maybe we could see them walking throught the autumn leaves, perhaps on Horsell Common, and as the sun begins to set, they both gaze up into the night sky, where we see Mars glowing brightly. A chill wind blows and and the Journalist puts his coat over her shoulders. Pan in on Mars, and then zoom out into the Journalist eye as the songs hits the instumental break, and we come back to reality as we see the mass of refugees fleeing past him in desperation, and as the vocals kick back in, he gets caught in the surge, then of course, a fighting machine appears, and fires it's heat ray, setting houses alight, as when he says "fire, suddenly leaped from house to house, the population panicked and ran, and I was swept along with them, aimless and lost without Carrie."
Any thoughts?

The whole of the album is based around onesong - 'Eve Of The War', this stands out during the opening of the album with the lyric's 'The chance of anything coming from Mars are a million to one', which make the main chords of the album.

That may be so, Horsell, but I can't imagine the film without Forever Autumn, Spirit of Man, Horsell Common and the Heat Ray, Thunder Child, Brave New World and the Red Weed being included.

That's a bit shallow, H_C. Why, they could of left the rest of the album out, then? No, the album is the album because of the whole package, not one song. -Gnorn

Your missing my point - have you not noticed how many times 'TEOTW' intro or chords appear through out the entire album?. . . . Shallow?, what do you mean by that?.
I never made any suggestion that the rest of the songs need to be missed out of the album, why?. Im just stating a very obvious fact that the album centre's around the musical pattern of TEOTW followed secondly by HC&THR base.

Sorry if I used a wrong expression (I'm Dutch, please don't shoot me ;-) but I meant that it was a rather simple view of the album - in regards that only TEOTW, the FIRST track of the album, is what's makes the album. But that's what I thought you meant, only the first track.
But still, allthough the music repeats in various places, without for example Forever Autumn the album is not the same album, and would loose a lot of what it delivers.

I get Horsell's point.. TEotW is the recurrent theme that runs through the whole thing. I personally prefer to look upon the whole thing as wrapped up in the whole 'experience'. That also includes the booklet artwork and all the goodies that go with it..

The Red Weed track reminds me of a differen't kind of weed sometimes. But you do get a strong sense of how the stuff slowly creeps along, slowly moving and swaying...even its infamous metallic taste. I've got it! A promotional product for the movie can be Red Weed Chew. ;D

"Yeah, Forever Autumn HAS to be in there,' Considering the fact it is one of the most, if not the most, popular songs in the album, I think it is a safe bet to say it will be in. It is also one of the few cuts from the album that can stand on it's own as a song, and maybe get some radio play time when the film comes out, another reason why it is a no brainer that it will be in.
