If grinning were something the online community could see us do. lol. My friends around here would probably care less. Not a giant WOTW-fan community where I'm from.
"Huh, oh gee Chris wow...that's amazing...Jeff Goblum is coming out with a new movie based on World War II? Since when did he direct?"

when it comes to products related to the album & CGI film i just hope Mcdonalds doesn't get their grubby hands on the rights! imagine it:- Mcdonalds happy meals with a free martian toy! I Don't think so! no doubt JW will have final say on what will & will not be authorised!

I'd want a free Martian toy. Who wouldn't? Wow! ;D But the tripod design is all sharp and with small pointy parts...it's have to be made of rubber and it'd be all lame with a two color paint job...green and metallic silver.

Scale model Fighting Machine with real working Heat Ray. . . Yes!, just press the button and watch as it wipes out your neighbourhood - WARNING - Not to be sold to anyone under the age of 3

What about a remote controlled Fighting Machine? Aw, that woulda been sweet back when I had army men. Even if it fired foam missiles...a walking tripod martian...cool.
Maybe a remote controlled Handling Machine would be easier...more legs...and they can just make it shuffle and put wheels on the bottom. That'd be sort of lame I guess..

I was in a toy store on Saturday (getting some paints for a model I am building for a customer) and I had a look at some of the stuff I used to play with when I was a child.
In the late 70s, early 80s I played with Technical Lego (remember that guys) and I suddenly thought what a great idea if LEGO jumped on the bandwagon and produced something on the lines of WOTW merchandise.
Then were the years.

It would be funny to see the interpretations. Even better...the less popular Q-brik(I think that's right) making a JW set...they're the ones who did those lego-like Alien and Hellboy movie figures.

[glow=red,2,300]Maybe Jeff should talk to the people at Bandai who IIRC make the zoids and have some pretty decent motion mechanics that just might manage to pull off a tripedal motion toy. I expect they'd have to lengthen the feet inwards and maybe make some minor alterations to make it work but it'd be sooo cool. If they made them like zoids you'd assemble them like a plastic model kit which would be a lot of fun. Painting up a little plastic martian then sitting him in behind those big transparent green plastic eyes... maybe even have the whole interior of the hood light up to really give those eyes a glow then watch it lurch accross the floor swinging its red led heatray left and right ;D What a thought! Being Bandai, they could mass produce it for both the Japanese and Western markets which would bring down the cost dramatically too! [/glow]
